FC United have signed prolific goalscorer Mike Norton from UniBond Division One neighbours Curzon Ashton.
Norton has scored more than 200 goals for Curzon and netted 41 times last season.
But even that phenomenal strike rate was not the best of his career as Norton netted an amazing 51 times in season 2007/08.
Norton has been a loyal servant to the Tamesiders since their formation in 2005. But after losing out in the UniBond Divison One play-offs for the third year running this April, he has decided it was time to move on.
Norton said: "I felt things were going a bit stale for me at Curzon and, being a big United fan, playing for FC United will be the next best thing.
"Maybe I could have gone a bit higher up, but I'll get to play in a United kit and the fans sing United songs.
"I am really looking forward to that and hopefully I can helped them get promoted to the Blue Square North."
