CHARITY, sport and friendship will be the winners at FC United's minithon on Sunday, 18 October.
More than 300 people will be taking part in the 3.6-mile run starting at Chorlton Green.
And supporters of the breakaway club will be running with Rochdale Hornets fans to see who can raise most money.
There is still time to take part with half the proceeds of the run going to Medequip4kids and the other half to the participating clubs.
There will also be a supporting run in Italy with FC Torino supporters taking part in a similar run.
FC United general manager Andy Walsh believes the events for charity can only benefit both clubs and cement friendships forged over years.
He said: “Last year's Minithon was a great success and one we wanted to build on this year. With Torino and Rochdale Hornets on board we are certainly doing that”
While 300 Italian Torino supporters will be running in the scenic footholds of the Italian Alps, their Manchester challengers will be racing or jogging around leafy Chorlton Meadows besides the River Mersey.
FC United will be making sure they have stars of stage and screen joining their efforts. They include Looking for Eric film star, Steve Evets and James Quinn from the TV comedy series, Early Doors.
People across Greater Manchester are invited to participate and support either the team from Rochdale, the Manchester rebels or, if they want to travel to Turin, the Toro club.
As a gesture of thanks, all those entering for FC United are being offered a free ticket to an FC home league fixture of their choosing. And the Hornets are offering their backers a free ticket to the their first home game in the new rugby league season.
Key runners for FC United include labrador, Boru, who holds the record time for dragging a pet owner around the course. Boru will be running to win a new pet bed this year, while valuable prizes will go to the fastest runners, best fancy dress entrants and entrants with the best headgear. It is hoped to top the £18,000 raised last year.
Mike Hughson Medequip charity director said: “The funds raised through the Minithon event are vitally important in enabling MedEquip4Kids to continue to improve the health of injured and very poorly children in our local hospitals. All those that took part in the event last year will testify as to what a well organized and thoroughly enjoyable event it was. Sign on for the Minithon this year and we promise you another great day out.”
People wishing to participate in the event can register with Medequip4kids at www.medequip4kids.org or 0161 798 1600. Registration is £10 for adults and £5 for under 18s.

Wilson rewarded for FC heroics
Source: Prestwich Advertiser
August 13, 2009
KYLE Wilson has been rewarded for his sensational goal scoring exploits with FC United last season by picking up the Greater Manchester non-league player of the year award plus a £500 cheque and a bottle of champagne.
Wilson netted 24 goals in just 32 appearances before signing for League Two side Macclesfield Town in the close season.
The 23-year-old said: "I’m delighted to have won the award and so grateful to FC United for giving me a leg up back into the League. FC are a great club and I enjoyed my time with them so much but I’ve wanted to return to the pro game ever since leaving Crewe."
FC manager Karl Marginson said: "I shudder to think how many goals Kyle would have finished up with for us had his season not been cut short (by injury).
"But let’s not forget that his general play was also outstanding, making him a worthy winner of the prestigious award.
"It came as no surprise when Macc came in for Kyle and, as much as we’re sorry to lose him, I’m sure that he will be a big success there."

Margy: FC will gain promotion
Source: Prestwich Advertiser
August 13, 2009
FC UNITED manager Karl Marginson believes that his squad has what it takes to bury last season’s disappointment by clinching promotion.
The reds narrowly missed out on a play-off spot last term but, as he prepared his side for their league opener against Boston United at Gigg Lane this Saturday, August 15, kick-off 3pm, Margy insisted that they will not miss out again.
He said: "We’ve made a few signings but the majority of the squad have stayed from last season, which is great news.
"We were very unlucky not to go up and, if we’d had the team that finished the season for the whole campaign then things may have been different.
"We have also promoted some graduates from our very successful youth team. I think we can go one better than last season and get promoted.
"Striker Ben Deegan has joined from Ashton United, full back Ben Morris was previously playing for Manchester City reserves, defensive midfielder Danny Stott has experience with Bolton Wanderers’ academy and youngster Jake Cottrell has moved from North West Counties side Oldham Town.
"Forward Abdi Ibrahim has recently been released by Manchester City’s youth academy and we are waiting for international clearance and home office checks.
"Goalkeeper Grant Shenton, midfielder John Buckley and striker Jamie Mack are the players who have made the step up from the youth team."

FC United’s derby loss takes shine off previous Hyding
Source: Prestwich Advertiser
August 06, 2009
FC UNITED suffered a defeat at the hands of their cross-city blue rivals as preseason preparations hot up.
The reds were beaten 2-1 by Manchester City fans’ club Maine Road at Brantingham Road on Tuesday night.
Simon Carden rounded off a lovely move involving Adam Carden and Ben Deegan on the right wing, to put the reds 1-0 up.
But that was cancelled out just five minutes later when former FC midfielder Neil Chappell smartly finished.
The home side then took the lead in controversial circumstances on 62 minutes. A penalty was awarded after a Dave Chadwick trip and the resultant spot kick was excellently saved by youth keeper Grant Shenton.
However, the ball rebounded to the taker, who rounded Shenton before sending it goalwards.
Chadwick appeared to clear the ball away, but the assistant referee decided it had crossed the line and a goal was awarded.
Jerome Wright, playing against his former teammates, hit the bar late on, but it wasn’t to be.
The derby loss followed a tremendous result at Hyde United on Saturday, August 1. Unibond side FC beat the Conference North side 3-1, with goals coming from Phil Marsh, Danny Williams and an own goal.
FC play at Colwyn Bay on Saturday, August 8. Admission on the gate is £6 for adults, £3 for concessions and just £1 for under-14s.

FC rally to win
July 30, 2009
FC UNITED set up a winner-takes-all clash with Bury after edging out Radcliffe Borough in the Newsquest Cup.
FC twice came from behind in an even contest at Stainton Park to win 3-2 and give themselves the chance to win the preseason friendly tournament at Gigg Lane.
Goals from Matthews, a penalty from Lomax and a fantastic side-footed finish from Ibrahim cancelled out strikes from Boro’s Wharton and Howson in front of 347 fans.
The Radcliffe win followed United’s 2-0 defeat at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, during which Adam Carden missed a penalty.
Despite being two leagues below their hosts, FC were far from outclassed and the red contingent among the 1,722 crowd left with high hopes for the coming season.

FC United set for Korean battle
Source: Prestwich Advertiser
July 16, 2009
FC UNITED will set off to South Korea today (Thursday )to play fellow fans-owned club Bucheon FC 1995 in a pre-season friendly.
Bucheon FC 1995 were formed in 2007 when their club Bucheon SK was taken over, moved to an island off the south coast and had their name changed to Jeju United.
Not surprisingly with a story like that, Bucheon FC 1995 have forged a friendship with AFC Wimbledon and it is through that link that FC received an invitation to play in South Korea.
Bucheon FC 1995 officials have said that they expect a crowd of up to 20,000 for the match on Saturday, July 18.
And FC will go into the game buoyed by a 4-1 victory at Leek Town.
Saturday’s pre-season win represented a trip down memory lane for FC with around 300 fans returning to the scene of the club’s first competitive game almost four years ago.
Who could have predicted back then that the new club’s journey would take in three promotions in the first three seasons, lifting FC United into the Northern Premier League Premier Division, where they narrowly missed out on a play-off place last season?
Saturday’s game kicked off FC’s preparations for another shot at promotion and manager Karl Marginson said: "I knew what to expect from playing non-league football and what it would take for us to make progress. But for a lot of the fans it was the start of something completely new.
"What I remember most about that visit to Leek in 2005 was the rain – the weather was rotten – and the fact that they had to delay the game by half-an-hour to get all of our fans in.
"It was the dawn of a tremendous time for us and coming back was a reminder for us of how far we have come in the last four years."
FC’s line-up on Saturday featured four members of FC’s first competitive starting XI – Steve Spencer, Tony Coyne, Joz Mitten and Adie Orr.
But the game got off to the worst possible start for Marginson’s men. Goalkeeper Phil Priestley dithered in possession and allowed Dan Cope to charge down his clearance as the ball cannoned into the net off the youngster’s shin.
After that, it was plain sailing for the visitors.
Orr levelled with a diving header from Ben Morris’ cross midway through the first period.
In the second half, Ben Deegan netted twice from close range and completed his hat-trick late on at the third attempt after his spot kick had been saved.
At the other end, Sam Ashton saved Adam Brindle’s spot kick to deny Leek a second.
Meanwhile, the money accumulated from FC’s unique season ticket pledges scheme, which sees fans pay what they can afford for a season ticket as opposed to paying a set price, has now passed the £100,000 mark.
And, with there being several weeks to go before the start of the season, the club are well on track to reach their £125,000 target.

Old boys return to the scene of FC United’s first game
Source: Prestwich Advertiser
July 09, 2009
FC UNITED will welcome back a host of former favourites for their visit to the scene of their first ever league game.
The reds travel to face Leek CSOB at Harrison Park on Saturday, July 11. It is the scene of their debut in the North West Counties League’s second division back in August 2005.
Old boys Joz Mitten, Steve Spencer and Dave Brown will feature in the All Star team alongside players who have been at the club ever since that historic day, including Simon Carden and Dave Chadwick.
FC manager Karl Marginson said: "It’s been great fun getting in touch with old mates and I’ll add in a few of the current squad, especially those like Chaddy and Si Carden, who have been with us since that first season.
"Unfortunately, centre back Rob Nugent will miss out after giving me some excuse about still being on his honeymoon."
The game will kick-off at 3pm and on the gate admission will cost £5 for adults and £2.50 for concessions.
Meanwhile, FC will travel to South Korea next week to face fans-owned club Bucheon FC 1995. For further details visit the website: www.fc-utd.co.uk.

FC United set for South Korea trip
June 25, 2009
FORGET about Europe, FC United are hoping to go one better with a pre-season tour of the Far East.
They have been invited to South Korea next month but details of who they will be facing have yet to be finalised.
The club realises that some supporters will want to travel but officials are urging them not to make arrangements until exact fixture dates have been released.
And if any fans cannot afford the historic trip they may be lucky enough to go for free. For FC, in keeping with their ethos, have arranged a raffle for a free place.
The reds will be joined on their Far East adventure by 22-year-old striker Ben Deegon, who has been brought in from Ashton United in response to hot-shot Kyle Wilson’s move to Football League club Macclesfield Town.
But they will be without brothers Jamie and Chris Baguley, who have joined Leigh Genesis after being promised that they will play every week there, plus assistant manager Phil Power, who has left FC after his contract expired.

Cantona: I would play for FC United
June 11, 2009
FC UNITED fans are in dreamland after reds legend Eric Cantona said that he would be prepared to play for the UniBond Premier Division side.
The king of Old Trafford repeated his fondness for the breakaway club, which is currently housed at Bury’s Gigg Lane ground, while publicising his film Looking For Eric in Manchester. And, coincidentally, FC now have a vacancy up front as striker Kyle Wilson has joined League Two outfit Macclesfield Town on a one-year deal.
Cantona said: "They (FC) have a great idea. I hope they will become a great club and win the European Cup in 50 years."
When asked whether he would be prepared to play for FC, the 43-year-old Frenchman gave his famous Gallic shrug and said: "Yes, why not?"
Andy Walsh, the general manager at FC, is thrilled at the prospect.
He said: "Eric Cantona was one of the best footballers ever to put on a football shirt, let alone a Man United one.
"It’s tremendous that he knows what FC United is all about and what we are trying to do. If he ever wanted to play for us, that would be great."
Cantona plays himself in Looking For Eric. The film touches upon the story of FC United and club bosses were involved in the project from the start, discussing ideas with writer Paul Laverty and director Ken Loach.
FC supporters even acted as extras.
Walsh added: "To have two people of such status as Eric Cantona and Ken Loach understand the issues of ordinary football fans and to support the club is to be cherished."
Meanwhile, Wilson has left FC just days after manager Karl Marginson nominated him for the Greater Manchester non-league player of the season award.
When putting the 22-year-old up for the award, Margy said: "It speaks volumes for Kyle that he missed the last three months of the season yet still ended up one of the UniBond Premier League’s top scorers with 24 goals.
"I shudder to think how many he’d have ended up with had he not been struck down by injury. But it wasn’t just his goals that made him stand out. His general play was also fantastic.
"It was a blow to us to lose him when we did and Kyle’s injury came at a time when a lot of Coca Cola league clubs were showing an interest in him."
Macc stepped up their interest in Wilson this week and the player, who has now recovered from the knee operation which sidelined him last season, could not turn down the offer of a full-time contract at a professional club.
Any FC fans who wish to vote for Wilson to win the Greater Manchester award should send an e-mail to: sport@men-news.co.uk detailing why they think he is a worthy winner in 100 words or less. By doing so they have the chance of sharing £500 with the player, providing that he wins. But they must be available for the player of the year presentation.

Macc for Kyle
Tony Howard
May 28, 2009
FC UNITED’S top striker Kyle Wilson has left the club to turn professional at Macclesfield Town.
For the second season in succession the reds have lost the services of their main hit man, following Rory Patterson’s move to Bradford Park Avenue last year.
Wilson was the UniBond Premier League’s third top scorer with 21 goals, despite missing the last quarter of the season with a knee injury.
His absence hampered United as they missed out on a play-off place in the very last minute of the season as results went against them.
But, despite his disappointment, manager Karl Marginson believes he still has the squad in place to mount a challenge for the title next season.
Marginson, himself a former player with the Silkmen, said: "Kyle was exceptional for us last season and, despite missing a big chunk through injury, he was still up at the top of the scorers charts at the end.
"He is a good player who can easily succeed at a higher level and we are happy to have played a part in him getting a chance to prove it.
"He drifted out of the game before we managed to coax him back and I think being at FC helped relight his love for football.
"He certainly excelled on the pitch and had he been available all season, then we may have made the play-offs.
"We have said from the very start of the club that we will do our best to help players live out their ambitions and if that means playing at a higher level then so be it.
"I won’t stand in the way of a lad who wants to achieve his dream of becoming a professional footballer and we always wish our players good luck when they leave. So Kyle goes with our best wishes and our thanks for the service and goals he gave us."
As for next season, Margy said: "Myself and our staff have spoken to all the players from last season’s squad and they have all indicated their wishes to stay at FC United.
"It’s great news for us because I honestly feel that if the current squad had been together from the very start of the season then we would have been challenging for the title, nevermind the play-offs.
"It’s the best set of lads that we have had at the club and in Phil Marsh we have a high quality striker who will hopefully fill the gap left by Kyle.
"Phil was released by Manchester United, so his quality is evident. Now he has settled at the club we are expecting big things of him next season."
FC travelled to Sweden to face Djurgarden IF in Stockholm’s Olympic stadium on Friday night, beating an all star team 3-1 thanks to goals from Nicky Platt (2) and Jamie Baguley.
Margy, who turned out as a second half substitute, said: "It was a fantastic opportunity for the players and fans to have an adventure into Scandanavia and everyone enjoyed it. I was mint."
Meanwhile, FC are still offering supporters the chance to ‘pay what you can’ for next year’s season tickets at Gigg Lane.
As long as fans pledge £90 or more to the club, they can pay any amount that they can afford.
So far over £43,000 has been pledged. For details visit website: www.fc-utd.co.uk. Or call the FC United office on: 0161 273 8950.

FC’s pledges hits 30,500 mark
May 21, 2009
FC UNITED have received more than £30,500 of pledges in the first few days of their groundbreaking season ticket deal.
The reds have allowed their fans to name their own price for tickets for next season in the UniBond Premier Division, having set a minimum of £90, which is £50 less than last season’s price.
A club spokesman stated that FC are delighted by the ‘fantastic response’.
He said: "We still have a long way to go to hit our £125,000 target. But the signs are encouraging and it is clear from the amounts being pledged that everyone is taking our collective responsibility seriously."
Supporters have voted goal scoring midfielder Simon Carden as the player of the year following his 12 goals in 43 appearances. The players picked out namesake Adam Carden as their top performer over a season in which FC missed out on a play-off place on the final day while manager Karl Marginson’s award went to goalkeeper Sam Ashton.
Meanwhile, FC have sent a squad to Sweden to take on an all star team from Djurgardens IF in Stockholm.
Djurgardens are one of Sweden’s premier sides and they play in the country’s top division at Stockholm’s Olympiastadion.
A collection of past and present players will star in the exhibition game against FC tomorrow night, Friday, May 22.

'We'll be back'
Stuart Brennan
April 30, 2009
FC UNITED just missed out on promotion to the UniBond Premier League in a dramatic finish to the season.
The reds failed to beat Bradford Park Avenue in front of a 3,718 Gigg Lane crowd and results elsewhere went against them with promotion rivals Kendal scoring a late winner to pip United to a play-off place.
FC were on course for a place in the top five until a heart-stopping final five minutes at Gigg Lane when Bradford scored an equaliser.
It looked promising for the highest crowd of the season, many wearing Eric Cantona face masks as part of a publicity campaign from those behind the forthcoming Ken Loach film Looking for Eric, which stars FC fans.
Defender Adam Tong prodded in an eighth minute opener, and goalkeeper Sam Ashton pulled off two excellent saves to keep the reds on track.
But the drama intensified as Mark Bett headed in for 1-1, and news filtered through that Kendal - who had thrown away a two-goal lead - had managed a third goal against Buxton for 3-2.
A tense four minutes of added time saw Ashton make another fine save and in the dying seconds, the ball fell to Tong who had a great opportunity to grab all three points. Unfortunately, his effort went inches wide in what was the last real chance of the game.
That put paid to hopes of FC equalling Truro City’s British record of earning four successive promotions.
FC, who were languishing in mid-table at Christmas, finished the season with seven wins and two draws, despite losing top scorer Kyle Wilson for the final three months.
But, with many of his players still horizontal on the pitch having given their all in a tense match, manager Karl Marginson issued a rallying call.
He vowed to lead his flat-out heroes to the Unibond First Division North title next season.
Margy said: "If we can keep these players together for next season, with maybe a couple of additions, I can see us winning the league.
"We’ve had this group of players together since before Christmas and our form has been magnificent.
"I have already started speaking to the lads about staying for next season and so far their responses have all been positive."

D-Day for FC
April 23, 2009
FC UNITED manager Karl Marginson says that the club’s fans can be the difference between success and failure as they go into their play-off decider this Saturday, April 25, kick-off 3pm.
If the reds beat promotion rivals Bradford Park Avenue at Gigg Lane and other results go their way, they will qualify for the UniBond Premier League play-offs and have a chance to progress to the Conference North.
Should United pull it off, they will set a new British football record of four consecutive promotions but BPA will be a tough nut to crack as they too are chasing a play-off spot.
Margy believes that his team have the fans to thank for roaring them into contention.
He said: "When I said before Christmas that I thought we still had a good chance of making the play-offs there were a few raised eyebrows. But the team and the fans have pulled together and helped us go on a great run, which has left us with a great chance of going up.
" Bradford beat us 2-0 earlier in the season but both sides are completely different outfits now.
"The fans have got behind us and when a few of the lads have been getting tired they have managed that extra 10 per cent because of the backing they have received.
"We hope for more of the same on Saturday and then, if we win that game, we will be going all out to win the play-offs too.
"I will send my team out to attack in the best United tradition and our supporters really appreciate that."
The reds set themselves up for the play-off decider with a last minute 1-0 win at title chasing Ilkeston Town at the weekend.
Danny Williams’ scrambled effort settled the encounter when it looked like FC were down and out.
"Danny’s goal was a stroke of luck we’ve deserved," said Margy. "We hit the bar four times against Nantwich so we were owed some good fortune and, hopefully, we can carry that on into the next game and maybe the week after too, should we make the play-offs."
The play-off campaign will take place next week with the highest placed team earning a home tie. Second will play fifth and third will play fourth with the highest placed winners hosting the final on Saturday, May 2.
Admission for Saturday’s do-or-die game costs £7.50 for adults, £5 for over-60s and £2 for under-18s.

FC's D-Day
April 16, 2009
FC UNITED are facing D-day in their battle for a play-off place as they travel to Ilkeston this Saturday, April 18, kick-off 3pm.
The reds are down to sixth place in the UniBond Premier League table, one spot below the play-off zone, after they drew 0-0 with Nantwich at Gigg Lane on Easter Monday.
It is crucial that they return from Derbyshire with three points at the weekend or their season will effectively be over.
Ilkeston are also in the promotion mix. They currently sit second with four games left to play.
United did everything but score against promotion rivals Nantwich, hitting the woodwork on four occasions.
Nicky Platt saw two fantastic efforts rebound off the bar but the fifth-placed visitors held firm to share the spoils.
FC manager Karl Marginson said: "It’s going to be very difficult but we’re not out of it (the play-off fight).
"We’ve got to concentrate on doing our own thing and we need to win our remaining games and see what happens."
After Ilkeston, FC will face Bradford Park Avenue at Gigg Lane in the final game of the season.
BPA are gunning for a play-off spot themselves so it could go right down to the wire.

FC are on a roll
April 09, 2009
AFTER a great weekend, both on and off the pitch, FC United are gathering momentum for their promotion push as they host Nantwich Town on Easter Monday, April 11, kick-off 3pm.
The UniBond league’s biggest crowd of the season saw FC swat aside North Ferriby 4-0 on Saturday thanks in part to veteran Simon Carden’s stunner, which made him the club’s second all time top scorer.
The match was played out against the back drop of Youth United Day, which brought over 3,000 people from all walks of life to Gigg Lane.
The other goals were scored by Carlos Roca, Jerome Wright and Tunji Moses as the reds pushed up to fourth spot in the table, with promotion challengers Nantwich the next team to visit.
Manager Karl Marginson said: "We looked at our squad a few months ago and were confident that we could still make the play-offs.
"I said as much in December and a lot of people scoffed. Well, I’m not getting too big headed yet but we have a serious chance of proving me right.
"It was similar last season when we came from nowhere to gain promotion via the play-offs. Hopefully, we will match last season’s achievement.
"Nantwich are a good team in with a shout of winning the league, so it will be tough. But we have beaten some of the top sides already this season and, on our day, we are as good as anyone."

Pre-season event
April 09, 2009
BURY, Radcliffe Borough and FC United have agreed to compete in an inaugural round-robin pre-season tournament.
The matches will be held at Bury’s and FC United’s Gigg Lane home and at Radcliffe’s Stainton Park base in July and August with family themed fun days attached to every game. And £1 of every adult and concession ticket sold will be given to the clubs’ chosen charities.
David Murgatroyd, Radcliffe’s chief executive, said; "We thought it was an excellent concept and have been working on it for a while before we decided to approach Bury FC and FC United, who also liked the idea.
"It is a win-win situation for all of the clubs and a fantastic way of showing the caring side of each club and their supporters by linking in with their chosen charity."
The date of one of the tournament’s games has already been confirmed with FC playing Radcliffe at Stainton Park on Saturday, August 8.

FC focused on promotion bid
March 26, 2009
FC UNITED manager Karl Marginson says that his players will concentrate on the job at hand as they prepare for a grudge game at Merseysiders Marine.
The reds are still in the UniBond Premier League promotion hunt as they set off down the East Lancs Road on Saturday, March 28, kick-off 3pm, for a showdown that is sure to have added spice following the behaviour of several Marine players in the reverse fixture, which resulted in one being sacked by the Crosby club for making gestures mocking the Munich air crash.
Despite his denial of the incident and laughable attempts to shift the blame on to fans of other clubs, it was later revealed that the player was a member of a Facebook internet site called ‘Munich 58 was the best thing ever’, leading to the commendable action of Marine FC in terminating his contract.
Matters were not helped when a journalist from a newspaper in the Sefton area hopped in a time machine to go back to 1975 with a remit for sensationalism and warned the citizens of leafy Crosby that their world was set to end at the hands of a marauding red army from Manchester.
Despite the distractions, Marginson says that his players will have their minds firmly fixed on what happens on the pitch at the weekend.
He said: "There will always be a bit of spice when clubs from Manchester and Merseyside meet but our players are determined to make the play-off places so the only thing that matters is getting the result.
"Marine will raise their game simply because they are playing United and that’s not a bad thing.
"It will be a competitive match and everyone is looking forward to it.
"We are still in the play-off hunt so Saturday’s match is a must-win game for us. Marine are a good club and they will make us very welcome so we are not interested in what has gone on before."
As the Advertiser went to press last night, Wednesday, March 25, the reds had added two key signings to the squad ahead of today’s (Thursday’s) UniBond signing deadline.
Following a long drawn out chase, former Manchester United youngster Phil Marsh was signed from Leigh and FC old boy Nicky Platt had returned to the club after being released by Stalybridge Celtic.

Play-offs in FC's sight
March 19, 2009
FC UNITED will climb back into the play-off places if they win away at Hednesford Town on Saturday, March 21, kick-off 3pm.
The reds beat promotion rivals North Ferriby 2-0 on Tuesday night to move within two points of the UniBond Premier League’s top five.
United leap-frogged North Ferriby in the table thanks to goals from Simon Carden and Carlos Roca.
Goalkeeper Sam Ashton made some good saves for FC to keep the scores level before Jerome Wright, who returned from suspension, twice went close to giving United the lead.
Roca scored from the penalty spot on 62 minutes with the Ferriby offender being sent off for his foul.
Carden then hit his second goal of the week to see off the home side.
Tuesday’s result followed a 2-0 home win against Frickley Athletic on Saturday.
