AFTER waiting 12 months for the new pitches to grow, Moston Juniors finally played the first games on the newly laid Ronald Johnson Playing Fields. With inaugural games for all age groups against Bury FC, the club took the first steps forward on the new facility.
With funding from the Football Foundation and the local council the facility is stage one of a proposed development that will eventually see changing facilities and a 3G artificial playing surface on the site.
Club chairman Paul Mitchell said: "This facility will give Moston a football facility to be proud of and will hopefully help to develop young players by them being able too play on high quality playing surfaces.
"Our club partnerships with St Matthews School, Bolton Wanderers, FC United and Mostonians will also ensure that children will get opportunities to take their talents to the highest level and make a full community use of the facility."
