Three people were arrested at Garforth Town's clash with FC United of Manchester.
Mounted police were among the officers at Garforth Town's match against FC United of Manchester at the Genix Healthcare Stadium in Garforth on Saturday.
It was a crucial match with both of the UniBond Division One North sides fighting for a place in the promotion play-offs.
A West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said the presence was due to intelligence received about the fixture.
The match was all-ticket for safety reasons and pubs in the area were also using plastic glasses in case of any problems.
The spokeswoman added: "Three arrests were made for public order offences."
Garforth lost the match - the final league game of the season - 2-1.
