FC UNITED drew 0-0 with UniBond League Division One North leaders Skelmersdale on Tuesday night.
The reds, currently in fifth place with four games in hand, were looking to close the eight point gap on the top side, but despite a number of half chances they were unable to break the deadlock.
Both sides had near misses and penalty shouts, with Skem going closest with a header against the bar.
Rob Nugent had a great chance for the reds in the dying seconds but blazed his volley into the Lancashire night sky.
FC keeper Sam Ashton made vital saves to make amends for his mistake on Saturday which gifted Lancaster a share of the points at a rain-soaked Gigg Lane.
The match finished 2-2 after FC had taken a 2-1 lead through Adam Carden and Jamie Baguley.
United travel to Ossett Albion tonight (Thursday) and they’re in Yorkshire again on Saturday (April 5) when they play Wakefield.
