FC UNITED captain Dave Chadwick still believes his side can win the UniBond North first division title.
Despite the reds’ recent poor run of form during a massive fixture pile up, the big number five says the automatic promotion dream is still alive.
Chadwick admits to being tired after playing five games in nine days. He said: "As long as it is mathematically possible to win the title, we will keep going. We can beat anybody in this league and I honestly think we’re capable of winning the last five games.
"There’s a lot of tired legs in the dressing room, but we need to cut out the silly mistakes and make no excuses about it.
"We need to string a few results together and then I think the title is still a realistic possibility."
FC played out an entertaining 0-0 draw with promotion rivals Bradford Park Avenue on Monday night, before returning from Harrogate RA with three points after a 3-1 win on Wednesday.
FC play Lancaster City at Gigg Lane on Saturday (April 12). Kick off is 3pm and admission on the gate is £7.50 adults and £2 under-18s.
