MINT finishes from Jerome Wright and Simon Carden helped FC United climb back into the play-off places with a 2-1 win at Kendal Town on Saturday.
Wright, who has been watched by Crewe and had a trial with York City recently, scored the first goal after just 12 minutes.
The home side had a mountain to climb 16 minutes later when Carden, despite appearing to be off-side by a farmer’s field-like distance, was allowed to slot in number two for the reds.
It was anything but a piece of cake for United though as the Cumbrians pulled a goal back from the penalty spot. But the reds held out to move up to fifth spot in the UniBond League Premier Division table.
