FC UNITED crashed out of the UniBond Challenge Cup on Tuesday night as their second string side were beaten 3-0 at Woodley Sports.
The reds handed debuts to many youth team players and even coach Darren Lyons had a run out as they lost to a brace of goals from Paul Collins and a strike by former Droylsden forward Gavin Salmon.
United will not be too disheartened by the result as their first team chalked up a fantastic scalp on Saturday, beating the UniBond Premier League’s top side Hednesford Town 3-0.
The goals were scored by Kyle Wilson (2) and Jerome Wright.
Eleventh-placed FC now face a tricky trip to fifth-placed Eastwood Town this Saturday, December 6, kick-off 3pm.
