Eastwood too strong for Rebels

9:35pm Sunday 7th December 2008

FC United could not handle FA Cup giantkillers Eastwood Town as they went down 4-2 in the UniBond Premier League at Coronation Park.

The Badgers, who shocked Wycombe out of the competition in the secound round of the famous trophy, were 2-0 up after 20 minutes through an Ian Holmes penalty and an Andrew Todd goal. Holmes added a third on 75 minutes before Todd struck again five minutes later.

Simon Carden’s superb volley and Kyle Wilson’s 23rd goal of the season proved no more than late consolation for Karl Marginson’s side.
