All at Bury Football Club wish to congratulate FC United of Manchester on their promotion in their very first year of existence.

A resounding 4-0 win at Gigg Lane last night over Chadderton, a game that had been called off on numerous occasions, saw FC United clinch promotion at the first attempt.

Launched only last summer in defiance of Malcolm Glazer's takeover of Manchester United, FC United have taken the North West Counties Second Division by storm.

The win was their 25th in 33 league outings this term which have yielded a staggering 106 goals and, while the title is not yet guaranteed, it is only a matter of time.

The title is the only aim for FC this season now, and that should come very soon.
